Life’s Fortune

Life's Fortune

36 x 24 inches, Oil on Linen

ANATOMY: Right and left lobes of the liver with blood supply, including the portal vein.  Stomach with mucosal lining and muscle structure showing.  Gallbladder, colon, small intestines, lower rib cage and sternum.

BEYOND:  Ever wonder why it’s called the “live”r?  After a death in my family, I realized that human beings cling to life as strong as possible.  People who are afraid to die or not prepared are at times ripped from their connection to their body.  This speaks to the mortality of us all in the wheel of fortune of life.
